Future Music Festival Wraps up 10th Season, Closes Doors Permanently

Many global festival-goers have included Future Music Festival on their bucket lists. Unfortunately, the Australian event announced that it won’t be returning for an 11th season in 2016. Festival director, Brett Robinson, reported that ticket sales were 30% below expectations.

In it’s 10-year existence, the festival hosted 1,956,467 fans, spent $12,000,000 on booking artists, sold 12,467,824 drinks, and launched 1,467 CO2 cannons. Reports also claim that ‘Levels’ was allegedly played for a grand total of 376 minutes, or 6+ hours, during the festival’s lifespan.


Future hosted countless headline acts including Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta, Carl Cox, The Chemical Brothers, Diplo, Basement Jaxx, Paul Oakenfold, Richie Hawtin, The Prodigy, Empire of the Sun, Above & Beyond, Pendulum, MGMT, Steve Aoki, Swedish House Mafia, Fatboy Slim, Paul Van Dyk, Skrillex, Aphex Twin, Knife Party, Drake, Porter Robinson, Avicii, Hardwell, Ellie Goulding, deadmau5, Kaskade, and Martin Garrix.
