As the saying goes, anytime you want to drum up buzz for your event do something involving Eric Prydz. That is a saying, right? Well anyway, it certainly rang true this week as Ultra Music Festival shocked the trance world by announcing their A State of Trance Lineup for Miami. It’s a big year for trance big room crossover acts as this year sees Mark Sixma, Heatbeat, and MaRLo join the likes of Markus Schulz, Andrew Rayel, and of course Armin van Buuren. In another surprising move Andrew Bayer will be making an appearance, which is rare for him in this neck of woods.
Obviously all of this was overshadowed by the ASOT inclusion of progressive house and techno legend Eric Prydz. After the announcement set Twitter on fire, Eric was quick to point out that he has no intention to suddenly add a trance persona to his roster. Some have speculated that the Megastructure would be better suited for his Holo equipment that was deemed too unsafe with the wind conditions on the main stage last year. Even more exciting is that ASOT will likely give Eric the opportunity to play a longer set than the main stage would allow. Ultra anticipation is reaching a fever pitch and it cannot get here soon enough. Be on the lookout for more Ultra news in the coming weeks, and get ready to reach a state of Prydz when Ultra touches down in Bayfront Park next month.
