SIDEPIECE Debut On Legendary Toolroom With Groovy Single ‘Sex Sells’

Have a fire extinguisher close by, this time you’ll need it.

Friday has arrived. And with it, we’re used to having an influx of new music. Well, on that bombshell (cue Clarkson), we’re happy to share this one with you. US-based House music duo SIDEPIECE have landed a very special signing for their latest release: they’ve sneaked into the headquarters of legendary label Toolroom for their new single, ‘Sex Sells‘.

Having joined forces with Dance icon Diplo for their second single ‘On My Mind’, SIDEPIECE have accrued the song’s streaming count to over 300 million, and also received a 2021 GRAMMY nomination for ‘Best Dance Recording’. They pride themselves on creating “party-starting club tracks with serious sex appeal“. And that tagline could not be more apt for their Toolroom debut.

‘Sex Sells’

‘Sex Sells’ packs a punch. It’s a saturated market today, and you might have a hard time finding a proper Tech House bomb that stands out from the pack. Well, take a shortcut by engaging with this single. The duo’s first-ever Toolroom record compiles a dry mix of short, snappy percussion, which pairs alongside a boomy kick.

The bass which acts as the last foundational element is absolutely groovy, having that dirty, warm quality. Over the base, massive searing synths, driving techy grooves and tongue-in-cheek vocals finish presenting a very tasting package. Playing analogue to the lyrics of the tune, Tech House sells, only when you do it well. I’d dare say these two truly know what they’re doing.
