The Palladium which is located in Worcester, Massachusetts, and is easily accessible by car or public transportation. There were ample parking options available near the venue, and public transportation services like buses and trains also served the area. In terms of accommodations, Worcester and surrounding areas offer a variety of lodging options, including hotels, motels, and vacation rentals. Many visitors chose to stay in nearby cities like Boston which is only a short one hour drive to the venue. Security was well staffed and organized, so lines were not much of an issue for those attending over the weekend. Festival attendees also had ample food options with food vendors selling hot dogs, burgers, french fries, and other festival food items to keep them fueled throughout the night. Besides all the food venues, the festival grounds had interaction installations such as a celcius booth, merchandise booths, Shein style station, and art installations to take pictures with your crew.

Music

Breakaway Mass had a sizeable mainstage in the parking lot and an indoor stage which was converted to the Launchpad stage and was where a majority of the dubstep DJ’s threw down. There was also a silent disco stage which was fun and a relaxing way when you just wanted a way to chill out. In terms of the lineup this year, it was stacked with some of the industry’s biggest heavy hitters. ILLENIUM delivered an unforgettable performance that showcased his signature blend of melodic dubstep and emotive vocals. It’s always a chaotic but fun experience when you can listen to heartfelt tracks such as ‘Feel Something’, ‘Not Even Love’ and then transition into headbanging to tracks like ‘Zombie’ and Island’. Deadmau5 was another highlight of the night as he commanded the crowds with his signature sound and iconic mouse helmet. Towards the end of day 1, Tiesto had the closing slot where he opened up with his latest track with Afrojack called ‘Light It Up’. Unfortunately due to technical difficulties, he had to stop his set for 20 minutes, but came in full force after the quick intermission. His set was high energy, packed brimmed with bangers, and an epic way to close out the night.

What’s great about Breakaway is that the lineup always displays a variety of electronic music genres, from house and bass to techno and trance. This diversity ensured that there was something for everyone to enjoy, regardless of their musical preferences. Those who enjoy live dance music got the chance to catch Big Gigantic who are known for their unique blend of electronic music and live instrumentation. In addition to the headliners, Breakaway Massachusetts featured performances from many other talented artists, including AYYBO, CHYL, J. Worra, Levity, and many others.

Overall the weekend was a resounding, offering a weekend of unforgettable experiences for electronic music fans. With an impressive lineup, energetic atmosphere, and diverse music genres, the festival delivered on its promise of providing memorable moments for all in attendance.
