Last year’s edition of Portola Music Festival at San Francisco‘s Pier 80 was a great success as it hosted the likes of Eric Prydz, Dom Dolla, Nelly Furtado, Charlotte De Witte, Carl Cox, and Skrillex. Due to last year’s success, the 2024 edition of Portola Music Festival is set to happen and it will return for the weekend of Sept. 28-29, once again at Pier 80. In fact, the organizers of the festival, renowned San Francisco-based events promoter Goldenvoice, confirmed its return in a letter they sent to residents of Alameda, a small city near Oakland and across the Bay from San Francisco. The letter affirms Portola Music Festival’s commitment to lower noise levels for the 2024 edition, especially since last year’s edition has caused numerous complaints from some of the Alameda residents.
The noise levels sent to Alameda coming from Pier 80 in last year’s edition were very significant that even the local government of Alameda issued a request to the San Francisco Entertainment Commission that it should either discontinue the festival or relocate it to an alternate venue where it will not “impact the Alameda residents”. Regardless of what may happen during and after the 2024 edition of Portola Music Festival, it will definitely be an awesome festival with cool amenities and a spectacular lineup. On May 13th, the Portola Music Festival organizers officially announced the lineup for the 2024 edition and just like last year, the lineup is totally awesome.

For Saturday, September 28th, fans will get to see the likes of RÜFÜS DU SOL, Bicep, Mall Grab, Four Tet, Tycho, Jamie xx and Gesaffelstein shining their talents through the daytime and nighttime skies over Pier 80. Furthermore, on Sunday, September 29th, stars such as Honey Dijon, Sammy Virji, Jersey, Justice, Boys Noize b2b VTSS, horsegiirL, Sara Landry, Tinlicker, and LP Giobbi and Chase & Status will continue to ensure fans attending the festival remain fulfilled with all that excellent music flowing through the air. As a result of the festival’s commitment to lower noise levels for this year’s upcoming edition, each festival day will start at 01:00 p.m. and end at 11:00 p.m. However, for that Sunday, all outdoor music will conclude at 10:45 p.m., which gives enough time for festival attendees to beat the rush as they leave the festival grounds.
Passes for this year’s festival
As of the moment of this writing, all of the GA and VIP passes for the 2024 edition of Portola Music Festival are sold out. However, fans can still join the official Portola waitlist where they can have access to the passes (if and when they become available). One piece of information regarding this waitlist is that the payment plans are not available for fans to utilize on it.

The former page allows fans with disabilities to request disability accommodations to ensure that they will have great access to many amenities of the festivities.
