Sad news this weekend struck Illenium‘s sold-out Trilogy show in California at SoFi Stadium. as we learn that a man in his early 20s drowned in the lake outside SoFi Stadium on Friday during the Illenium Trilogy show.
The man is believed to have entered the lake around 930pm and never resurfaced, according to police. Officers working the event observed him swimming in the lake earlier in the night. A dive team was dispatched to search the 15-foot-deep lake outside the arena. His body was found shortly before 11pm and officials attempted CPR as the show was ending. He was declared dead at the scene.
It is unclear if the man had attended the Illenium show or not and his name has not been released. SoFi Stadium released the following statement:
It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of an individual last evening. Our deepest condolences go out to the individual’s family and friends for their loss. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time

This is the second death to occur in the SoFi Stadium lake since it opened. In 2022, a 45yo man hopped the fence to enter the grounds and was discovered dead in the lake. The stadium opened in September 2020.
