Chicago-bred production duo Louis The Child are dropping a new single, ‘How High‘, just ahead of their hometown performance next weekend at Lollapalooza.
The highly anticipated track is reminiscent of their earlier work and samples an Aretha Franklin song. The title of the song was actually chosen by fans via a survey on social media, and fans were clearly excited to have been able to play a part in the song’s release.
Louis The Child have been teasing the track at shows, festivals, and on social media for the past several months, causing ‘How High‘ to become a crowd favorite before its official release, which has created strong fan anticipation leading into the long-awaited drop.
‘How High‘ will be included on the duo’s upcoming sophomore album, which is due out later this year.
Louis The Child recently announced their second annual Alter-Ego, a multi-stage takeover at the Brooklyn Mirage on August 19th. The event will feature two sets from Louis The Child, one as their alias Black Marble and one as a back-to-back headlining set with special guest What So Not. In addition to the main stage, there will be a room for stand-up comedy and live improv, as well as a Space Yacht takeover.
The event is a great opportunity for fans to see their favorite artists step outside of their comfort zones and play experimental sets. It will be bigger and better than last year’s event, with more stages and more activities. Louis The Child will also be playing a number of other festivals this summer, including Lollapalooza, Moonrise Festival, and Bonnaroo. They will be closing out the summer with two shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on September 23rd and 24th.
