The firm further solidifies their partnership ahead of this year’s Summit, the 14th version ever held.
The Beatport Group, the global leader in music for DJs and producers, announced today that it has acquired a majority stake and formed a partnership with the International Music Summit (IMS) Ibiza, the platform dedicated to creating awareness of, and appreciation for, electronic music. The bond between both parties is expected to enhance and secure the future growth and expansion plans of the IMS business platform.
IMS has been around since 2007, the year in which it was founded by five partners, including Pete Tong and Ben Turner. The Summit aims to inspire debate and discussion related to the electronic scene, and has done so 13 times so far, not only in Ibiza, but also in different Asian countries.
International Music Summit X Beatport
The partnership sees the light of day preceding this year’s IMS Ibiza, which will take place from April 26th to 28th at Destino Pacha Ibiza. Beatport CEO Robb McDaniels values the association: “IMS has become one of the most impactful gatherings for the global DJ and dance music industries, and everyone at Beatport is excited to take this brand to the next level”. Likewise, the IMS founding partners (Ben Turner, Danny Whittle, Mark Netto, Pete Tong & Simeon Friend) express: “Aligning with Beatport, who have been supporters of IMS from our inception, will enable us to action many of our ideas on how to continue to grow the platform all year round, [and] will help increase our ability to have more impact for the genre.”
IMS Ibiza will hold its fourteenth edition this April 26-28 for three days of purposeful conversation, connection, and celebration at Destino Pacha Ibiza resort. Early Bird Delegate badges, as well as discounted badges for students, under 27s, Ibiza residents, and sustainable travelers, are all available to buy from today.
