Eric Prydz has revived his techno moniker Cirez D for a couple of Beatport exclusives. The Swedish dance music icon dons multiple avatars juggling between progressive house, techno, minimal progressive tech and others. This time he had decided to awaken his famed techno alias in the form of two massive releases.
‘Valborg’ and ‘The Raid’ have seen the light of day on Beatport. These are two of Cirez D’s regular mainstays in his sets spanning across the last year. Valborg, formerly known as the Lollapalooza ID, has a shinier techno feel with brighter chords progressing through its duration. The Raid (previously recognized as Tomorrowland 2019 ID), on the other hand, is dominated by the signature dark Cirez D basslines and squelches. This is the part of the release to probably appease the traditional Cirez D addict.
Within 24 hours of the release, it has rocketed its way straight to the supreme slot on the Beatport charts. This could be typically associated with a Prydz release and does not quite throw any surprises. The return of his bi-weekly EPIC radio rounds off a near perfect week for the legend. The episode also announces the arrival of the newest artist inclusion in the Pryda catalogue in the form of US techno producer Charles D. His track called ‘You’ has been snapped up by Prydz’ label Pryda Presents and was a part of the radio shows as well. The track-list for the episode is as follows :
Pryda – Beats 1 Episode 34 ID
Pryda – Balaton
Pryda – Loveland 09 / EPIC 005 02 ID
Pryda – Spectrum
Pryda – Waves
Pryda – The Drive
Pryda – Mejnmejl Madrid
Cirez D – Mulla
Charles D – You
Cirez D – Come Closer
