Dance music festival giant Tomorrowland is joining the coronavirus quarantine livestream game with a broadcast on Tuesday featuring four DJs including Dimitri Vegas without his duo partner Like Mike.
The stream, ‘Tomorrowland Presents: United Through Music,’ starts up at 3 p.m. CEST (9 a.m. ET) with curated one-hour sets. The performers are Dmitri Vegas, Dutch heavy-hitter Afrojack, Belgian house producer Lost Frequencies, and Brazilian house DJ Vintage Culture.
All four DJs will be “spreading good vibes and great music from their homes into the living rooms of viewers and listeners around the world during this unique live show,” Tomorrowland states in a press release on Monday.
“In these exceptional and challenging times, Tomorrowland wants to unite the People of Tomorrow across the globe—through the power of music,” the press release states. “As a worldwide community, Tomorrowland wishes to continue to connect people by giving hope and looking forward to a bright future.”
The livestream will be available free on Tomorrowland’s website, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube pages, and One World Radio.
Here are the set times in ET:
- 9-10 a.m.: Lost Frequencies
- 10-11 a.m.: Afrojack
- 11-12 p.m.: Dimitri Vegas
- 12-1 p.m.: Vintage Culture
Dimitri Vegas Alone
In recent years, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike headlined practically every summer at the festival in their native Belgium. Therefore it is not surprising that the duo—back at No. 1 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list last year—has a presence in the livestream. However, it is interesting and rather rare that only one of the two brothers is performing. Dmitri Vegas had some words for fans.
“With the postponement of so many events and the need for social distancing, we know the People of Tomorrow are looking to connect through the power of music more than ever,” Dmitri Vegas stated. “I am very happy to join Tomorrowland in order to give people across the world a magical experience at home, interacting and supporting each other as one large global community.”
Earlier this month as coronavirus spread, the French government canceled Tomorrowland Winter which was scheduled March 14 to 21. Other festivals that have been postponed, including Ultra Music Festival and Insomniac’s Beyond Wonderland, have already held livestream events on their would-be March dates.
