2019 has come and gone, and with it, so have two editions of San Diego‘s CRSSD Festival. If you’re a fan of House & Techno, i’m sure you would agree that CRSSD is one of the best events around when it comes to this realm of the dance music world. It goes without saying that CRRSD has come to be known for it’s stellar lineups, beautiful locale, and amazing vibe. From the looks of things, this reputation will continue to be upheld. I say this, because CRSSD has just announced the first phase of their Spring lineup.
The spring edition of San Diego’s beloved CRSSD Festival is set to return in 2020 to the Waterfront Park, from March 7-8th. The festival will consist of its usual three stages, being ‘The Palms‘, ‘Ocean View‘, and ‘City Steps‘. If you’ve never attended, just know that each stage is curated to fit a specific sound. With that being said, it is easy to see that there is something here, for every type of dance music lover.
Past Lineups
In the past, we’ve seen acts like Kaskade (Redux), Odesza & Portugal The Man grace the Ocean View stage. Meanwhile, acts like The Martinez Brothers, John Digweed, & Richie Hawtin have smashed the City Steps. When it comes The Palms everyone from FISHER, Lane 8, & Anti-Up (Chris Lake & Chris Lorenzo) have blessed the dance floor with their signature styles. If you think these are good, just wait till you see who CRSSD has in store for Spring 2020.
Spring Lineup
Set to make their way to the Spring CRSSD 2020 are headliners like Gesaffelstein, RÜFÜS DU SOL, and Carl Cox. In addition to these three, numerous other acts have been added.
Ocean View
The Ocean View stage can expect to see Detroit house icon Kevin Saunderson & vocalist Paris Grey’s collaborative project Inner City. Along with this, the OVO signed pair Madjid Jordan, & American dance-rockers The Rapture will be there too. To top it off, Soulwax, as well as Red Axes, Pluko, Evan Giia and the ever-iconic Télépopmusik will also be performing.
City Steps
Across the way at City Steps, we have the return of Charlotte de Witte and the arrival of Dax J. The legendary progressive duo Hernan Cattaneo will go B2B with Nick Warren. But wait, there’s more! Radio Slave, Monki, Mark Knight b2b Technasia and Ben Böhmer will all be gracing the stage as well. When it comes to Techno, I Hate Models, Lee K and Kudeki will be representing the sacred genre.
The Palms
When it comes to The Palms, the lineup is truly stacked. Fan favorite Chris Lake, as well as Grammy-nominated and Purified Records founder Nora en Pure will taking the helm. In addition to this, the French touch is in full effect with a special b2b between 2manydjs & Brodinski, as well as Étienne de Crécy, Perseus and Myd.
Disco and upbeat house will be showcased by Purple Disco Machine and, while Kaz James and Patrick Topping be taking things a bit deeper. Prospa will be exploring some more off kilter sounds, while PAX will be bringing the heat.
CRSSD 2020
Its insane to think that this is only the first phase of their lineup reveal, and that many more artists will still be added to the final billing.
Whether you’re into the sounds of the underground, wonky tech-house, or indie dance, there is literally something here for every musical taste. If you’re impressed by this lineup, which i’m sure you will be, it is wise to lock down your tickets ASAP. CRSSD is known to always sell out.
