DJ and producer Tiësto married his fiance Annika Backes this past weekend. The beautiful ceremony took place at the Amangiri, a desert resort in Utah. There were approximately 80 people in attendance at the ceremony, which was followed by a reception afterwards. Allegedly, Tiësto also played a new song that he wrote for his new bride, titled ‘A Million Years‘. Fireworks followed shortly after, lighting up the night sky.
The couple met at a restaurant in Los Angeles in 2015 through a group of mutual friends. They began to hang out consistently and even went to Coachella together. Fast forward to late 2018, and Tiësto proposed to Annika in the Maldives.
In an interview with Vogue, Tiësto opened up about the significance of his wedding day and what it means to him.
“I felt overwhelmed with emotions because we have been in love for so long and thinking about this day forever, and then it was finally here… It was more beautiful and more special than I could have ever imagined. To see everyone I love there and then to see the love of your life walking down the aisle, it is the best feeling in the world.”
