Last month, we reported that the “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us” viral Facebook event was getting transformed into a new music festival called AlienStock.
The highly intriguing festival is scheduled to take place from September 20, 2019, to September 22, 2019, in Rachel, Nevada. With a little over a week to go, the original creator has officially backed out, according to Fox 5!
Although the 21-year-old creator Mathew Roberts has peaked international curiosity; the event could turn out to be the next Fyre Festival due to concerns over logistics and permits. Roberts told ABC Arizona he was worried the fest’ would be “a disaster.”
“We don’t have a good feeling about people going out 150 miles into the desert without the resources that they need.”
-Frank DiMaggio, Co-organizer
What’s even more surprising is that less than 24-hours earlier; Roberts had told Fox 5 that the festival would take place “no matter what.” It has been reported that AlienStock has confirmed at least 20 bands and two comedians and will go on without Roberts.
Do you believe the event will end up panning out? It’s sure sounding like the next Fyre Festival if you ask us. Will you be attending, or know someone who will be? Drop us a comment with your thoughts!
