The Detroit powerhouse duo, Golf Clap built their reputation on high-energy DJ sets that have captured the hearts of many a party go-er at festivals like Electric Forest and Movement. Over the years they have shown production prowess with their original tunes such as “Bout That” and “Gravitate” on Toolroom; “Vices” and “Everybody” on Green Velvet’s Relief Records, “Sick” on This Ain’t Bristol; or “Come Together” with Todd Edwards and their last release Demo Tapes, both on their own Country Club Disco imprint. More recently, Bryan Jones & Hugh Cleal have secured their position as mainstay producers, as they have been sought out time and time again for high profile remixes for artists such as ZHU & Tame Impala, Louis the Child, BROODS, Zeds Dead & Illenium, and Autograf!
Once again, Golf Clap has delivered a wonderful remix for Madi with Robokid, released today via Moving Castle. Madi, based in Los Angeles, is a 20-year-old songstress and producer. ‘Madi’ garnered recognition in the EDM scene by collaborations with Slushii, Excision, KSHMR, and R3HAB, just to name a few. Inspired by Banks, Jai Paul, and Sevdaliza, Madi’s multifaceted expertise warrants her desire to bridge the gap between electronica and dark pop.
With this remix, Golf Clap, has completely flipped the script on the original, trading the dark and moody vibe for a bright, euphoric tone that is sure to warm up many a dance floor this summer. The track moves forward with a deep and sultry bassline which is perfectly complemented by simple, yet sophisticated percussion, and bright, beautiful pads. Expect to hear this one in many big sets this summer!
