It’s that exciting time of year where we look back on all the great music that’s been released. That’s right, it’s Grammy Nomination time. The 2019 nominees have just been announced and we’re very excited about the Best Dance Recording category in particular.
Starting out the list, we have ‘Losing it’ by FISHER, however, that song already won something better than a Grammy. Last month, Elon Musk tweeted about it. Which none of these other artists can lay claim to. How can a Grammy live up to that? But we still wish the Australian producer luck!
And then, there’s ‘Ghost Voices’ by Virtual Self. Virtual Self is, of course, the fantastic side-project of Porter Robinson. The project has been a massive success this past year. He recently just finished his UTOPiA SySTEM Tour. Porter took to Twitter to announce the nomination.

He has never been nominated for a Grammy before, and it means that much more to him that it was for his project. This one is very near and dear to his heart. Good luck Porter, Virtual Self, Technic Angel, and Pathselector. You guys have worked very hard.
The list finishes off strong with ‘Northern Soul’ by Above & Beyond (Featuring Richard Bedford), ‘Ultimatum’ by Disclosure (Featuring Fatoumata Diawara), then ‘Electricity’ by Silk City & Dua Lipa (Featuring Diplo & Mark Ronson).
It’ll be a while before we know the winners, but the hype will be enough to keep us going until then.
