Google’s new Pixel 2 and the larger Pixel 2XL went on widespread release last week, bringing with them updates such as edge-to-edge screens, squeezing the phone to active Assistant, AR stickers, and an improved camera. As glowing reviews come in for the new iteration of Google’s flagship phone, the tech giant is helping to lead the foray into augmented reality. With a new AI adventure playground dubbed the “Sci-Fi Super Mall,” Pixel 2 users can explore unique AI features such as the Google Assistant the smart Google Lens Camera in a vast former brewery in Berlin, allowing people to physically interact with Pixel 2 features, according to Highsnobiety.
Google Pixel 2 has unveiled a new collaboration with Boiler Room, the online underground music streaming platform, creating Pixel Records, a fictitious record label in an experiment blending AI and music. The experiment allows users to upload sound snippets and fuses them into an algorithmically-made musical piece. The final result will be sent back to the user and can even become part of the music orchestra piece, which will be available at a later point.
It will be very interesting to see how this further develops, as well as what other new AI creations Google will conceive with the Pixel 2. For now, feel free to experiment with Pixel Records here, and be sure to let us know what you think.
