Earlier this month, Beyoncé shocked the world by announcing her pregnancy with twins. Two weeks prior to that announcement, it was revealed that she would be headlining Coachella in April. Unfortunately, fans will be saddened to hear that Queen Bee has pulled out of Coachella for this year. Fans had speculated that she might pull out of the festival’s line up because of her pregnancy and Coachella has confirmed those rumors to be true.
Hope of Beyoncé still performing at Coachella was held and some rumors were (at the time, at least) debunked when she performed at the 2017 Grammys. However, the choice for Beyoncé pulling out of the festival comes from doctors’ orders and Coachella formally released the following statement on Facebook Thursday afternoon:
Parkwood Entertainment and festival producer Goldenvoice also confirmed the bad news, but gave fans some positive news by stating she will be headlining the 2018 Coachella lineup.
Beyoncé was originally scheduled to headline April 15 and 22. She would have been the first female act to headline the festival since Bjork in 2007. She was last seen at Coachella dancing on stage with her sister, Solange, in 2014. Other headlining acts include Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead.
Coachella has not announced a replacement yet. Daft Punk…. Alive 2017?
