On this Thanksgiving, we all take stock in how fortunate we are to have friends, family, health and wealth. It’s also a time to think of those who are less fortunate and how we might be able to help them. On this day of thanks, we have to shine a spotlight on good guy and legend Eric Prydz for giving one less fortunate fan his dying wish.
The story began on Eric’s die-hard Reddit community where a fan explained that he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. While this fan had tickets to Eric’s EPIC 5.0 show in, he made the gut wrenching admission that he might not make it that long. His wish was to see Eric one last time, and the community quickly got to work for him. Eric’s team was contacted and within a day, Eric offered to put on an exclusive LA show for the fan.
The fan posted a heartwarming response:
I don’t honestly know how to put the following into words. It’s unbelievable.
So I got an email today from Eric’s manager asking for my number and got a call today. As you all know Eric isn’t much of a flyer so it would be hard for him to get him onto the east coast soon. So they offered me to see him in LA January 1st! Already crazy.
Not even 30 minutes later he calls back and tells me “So I talked to Eric and the rest of the team and we want to throw you your own personal LA show. ALL tickets sold will go to the charity of your choosing.” Theyre flying me out. Getting me a hotel room. And it looks like we’re going to have another LA show before Christmas that the team will be posting about shortly. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. THE LOVE FELT TODAY WAS OUTSTANDING. THEY ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD.
Among the many things we have to be thankful for let’s be glad we have some great people in our dance music scene like Eric Prydz. Our hearts go out to the fan and we wish him the best.
