Some more good news from SFX and its affiliated companies this week, as SFX has decided to keep Beatport. SFX was originally planning to auction off the storied music store as part of its bankruptcy proceedings. Then the auction was mysteriously halted and a plan was put in place to radically slim down the store. Previously SFX added a huge free streaming platform along with a social component and event tickets/streams. Many took the news as a sign that the store was failing fast and that it might not be long for this world.
Lo and behold, SFX has announced that the changes they made dramatically improved Beatport’s profitability and the store can remain a jewel in the SFX crown. Now we’ll wait to see if they can do the same for TomorrowWorld.
