WatchTheDuck – Stretch 2-3-4 (Boots N Pants Remix)
WatchTheDuck. Man, brings me back…”Poppin’ Off” in 2012 was huge. Drawing mass influence from their home and the hip-hop capital of the world (ATL…duh) and combining it with the trending electro grunge of the time, WatchTheDuck hit the scene with some serious force. It’s been a while since they’ve been in our sights, but they’ve been active since then don’t worry; their recently released Trojan Horse EP has done well on Dim Mak, with executive producing from the big man himself, Steve Aoki, along with a certain Pharrell Williams and TI. To make things even better…”Stretch 2-3-4″ has made its way to TV, and to celebrate the success they’re releasing a remix pack! We’re here to bring you a down n’ dirty phat-ass remix from Boots N Pants.
“This one was a blast to remix, already so funky! Getting a chance to chop up Pharrell vocals was pretty epic. Once we translated the bass into a house tune everything fell into place.”
East Coast meets West Coast in the best way possible as these LA boys bring some serious character to an already funky-soulful tune. Venturing away from the original southern bluesy soul, and leaning towards a notably more G-House/Tech House style, Boots N Pants implemented the original elements in a much grittier fashion. This remix is genre-splicing at its finest, taking the original genes and restructuring them into a house-y architecture just feels natural. Check it out below, and if you’re digging that pounding bass and smooth flow as much as we are, show it some love with a repost.
