With the surprise cancellation of this year’s Tomorrowworld, the eyes of festival junkies have shifted to its big brother Tomorrowland to determine whether the ID&T powerhouse has lost it’s stranglehold as the must-see electronic music festival. Arguably the largest and most immersive experience of the entire festival circuit, Tomorrowland and its DreamVille counterpart provide attendees with a breathtaking atmosphere, surrounding fans with beautiful scenery and stage design that truly compliment the four-day event.
With the impressive Ultra lineup set to take the stage in a few weeks, Tomorrowland has taken to social media these past few days to selectively release the names and stages expected to perform in the PLUR paradise of Boom, Belgium. Offering up a lineup filled with up and coming artists and fan favorites, Tomorrowland 2016 will play host this summer to the likes of Axwell^Ingrosso, Eric Prydz, Deadmau5, Oliver Heldens, Martin Garrix, The Chainsmokers and Tiesto, while featuring performances from Tomorrowland residents Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Yves V. With such a diverse and complete lineup just announced for Phase 1, it’s tough to imagine this will be the year Tomorrowland is dethroned as the pinnacle of festival experiences.
Despite further competition within a market that’s quickly saturating as new festivals pop up across the globe, Tomorrowland continues to serve as the elite standard by which events aspire to become, in both attendance and overall prestige. Look for further artist announcements to continue up until the 2016 event kicks off over the July 24th-26th weekend. Tickets for Tomorrowland 2016 are sold out, but if you were lucky enough to grab one before they ran out, rest assured that this will surely be an unforgettable experience.
