Phoebe Ryan – Mine (Bearson Remix)
Phoebe Ryan’s ‘Mine’ has been a hot target for remixes since its releases this spring. The draw is pretty evident – the top line is one of the catchiest of the year. Next Wave Records up and comer Bearson has taken Ryan’s vocal effort and gorgeously weaved a bespoke and glistening production around it. Chopped vocal stutters and synthetic stabs interweave over a half step beat in a very crisp fashion. Quality arrangement is somewhat of a shortfall amongst producers in dance music these days, and this kid has it on lock. This track continues Bearson’s transition away from the world of 4 to the floor, and serves as a continuation of the unique take on sound design he started with ‘Pink Medicine‘ and his collaboration with industry starlet Mark Johns, ‘Imposter‘.  While his Soundcloud page briefly describes his sound as electronic pop, it’s fair to say that it is a narrow narrative for what Bearson projects to be capable of.
