HI-LO – Crank It Up

His name may be HI-LO, but his first production suggests that he focuses his attention on the lower end of the EQ spectrum. Not much information is available about the new producer besides his first track, “Crank It Up”, and that it is being played out by the likes of Diplo, Green Velvet, Flux Pavilion, Tiesto, Umek, Kaskade, DJ Snake and Knife Party. Despite the coming summer months, this one is meant for the darkest of warehouse parties.

The repeating vocal exclaiming the song’s title alludes to a choral drop that will be a universal party starter, but HI-LO looks towards the underground market to satisfy his specific audio needs rather than towards commercial appeal. The ominous bass lead will send your mind for a whirl as the faceless figure layers slapping drum strikes, trickling accents and heart-accelerating hi-hats. Surprisingly seeing home at Diplo’s bass-heavy label, Mad Decent, “Crank It Up” will be available on June 25th in its final form.
