Sammy Virji, the rising star of electronic music known for his infectious blend of UK garage, bassline, and house, took New York by storm this past weekend. He sold out two b2b shows at the Great Hall in Avant Gardner, showing his immense growth as an artist over the past few years.
As the doors of the Great Hall opened, a diverse crowd eagerly awaited Virji’s performance. The night kicked off with a dynamic sets from Hans Glader and Andruss.
When Virji finally took the stage at 1am, the energy reached a fever pitch. His signature feel-good garage sound filled the room, captivating the audience with its bouncy beats and infectious grooves. He’s a wizard at fusing the classic UK Garage sound with cutting-edge production, crafting a vibrant, bouncy, and undeniably unique sonic experience. The crowd, a mix of seasoned ravers and newcomers to the genre, danced the night away, united by the love of the genre. Throughout the two hour set, the energy was nonstop, with the crowd erupting in cheers and fist bumps as Sammy’s peak beats took the crowd through a journey. If you were there, it was honestly hard to not jump around. Hype and frenzied energy was fueled by some of his biggest hits such as ‘IF U Need it’, ‘Shella Verse’ and ‘Moonlight.’ Myself and many others in attendance that weekend left with excitement and anticipation for the new world of music that Sammy has opened up with his sound.
Virji recently uploaded his boiler room set from Denver for all his fans globally to enjoy. Check it out below and definitely consider catching him at a future show near you!
