Viral producer/award-winning violinist THMPSN fuses phonk and UK rap on new single “Riot”

After diving into the world of Brazilian Phonk on his most recent singles, multifaceted producer, DJ, and violinist THMPSN is now exploring the sounds of UK rap on his latest track, “Riot.”

Riot” sees THMPSN blending phonk aesthetics with a hard-hitting UK rap beat and his signature violin – a combination of elements that make for a raucous, one-of-a-kind listening experience. With towering vocals from UK artist Kris Kiss, “Riot” delivers pumped- up energy via its trunk-rattling instrumental and infectious rap flows.

Riot” kicks off with a propulsive reggaeton drum rhythm before introducing Kris Kiss’ vocals into the mix, who flows perfectly in the pocket of the beat. The track then evolves by adding pounding kick-drums, deep, distorted bass, and an ominous central synth melody – elements that add up to an immaculately produced banger that’s as brooding as it is thrilling.

Riot” marks the fourth release in a string of genre-defying tracks that have positioned THMPSN as a pioneering force in the Phonk scene. Earlier this summer, he dropped “Nicole Aniston,” an official collaboration with Memphis hip-hop legend Kingpin Skinny Pimp, the most heavily sampled artist in the Phonk genre. Named after the adult film star who also recorded vocals on the track, “Nicole Aniston” is a drift Phonk banger that combines the genre’s signature aesthetic with THMPSN’s elegant string arrangements, adding a unique twist to the genre’s soundscape.

The “Nicole Aniston” self-directed music video showcases THMPSN’s filmmaking skills in a high-energy montage, starting with a reiki session featuring Nicole Aniston, followed by provocative scenes of women working on cars and high-speed aerial shots of drift car racing, perfectly capturing the drift Phonk vibe of the track.(Watch the official music video here).

Next, THMPSN unleashed “VIOLINO DA BRUXARIA,” a dynamic collaboration with Brazilian Phonk vocalists Dragon Boys that blends traditional Brazilian rhythms with dark, atmospheric Phonk elements, creating a transportive sonic journey. The official music video for “VIOLINO DA BRUXARIA,” is a visual accompaniment that evokes the spirit of the Fast and Furious movies by highlighting the symbiotic relationship between Phonk music and car culture. After that, THMPSN unveiled “Tenebroso,” which showcased THMPSN’s signature style of deep, atmospheric soundscapes infused with the vibrant energy of Brazilian rhythms. (Watch the official music video here).

After moving to the United States, THMPSN gained recognition as a viral content creator, helping build the YouTube channels of fitness icons Bradley Martyn and Calum Von Moger, while simultaneously using their platforms to promote his house music. His own viral violin performances further boosted his reputation. Known for his love of electronic music, violin, fitness, and animals, THMPSN has also immersed himself in the drift car world as an amateur driver, further adding to his unique persona.
