As we speak, Dada Life’s longtime member Stefan Engblom is in the Intensive Care Unit of a Stockholm hospital, fighting severe infection following postoperative complications. Just a few weeks ago, on October 16th, he’d had an endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP for short), where he caught, in his own words, “a nasty bacteria“.
After being looked after at the hospital and treated with IV antibiotics, he was eventually released, and a few days later, bacteria started growing in his body again at alarming rates. This is when he got to the ER, where he was fed antibiotics and painkillers, but the situation worsened to the point he was admitted at the ICU.
Yesterday, he uploaded a video to his Instagram account where he recalls how intense of an experience it’s been. He says, “Felt like I couldn’t breathe, uncontrollably puking bile, shaking and couldn’t control my body. The thoughts in my brain was, as long as I can scream for help I can breathe“.
