It seems like Sphere Entertainment Co. is taking multiple hits this week. As the futuristic venue located in Las Vegas prepares for a huge residency, while hosting Anyma for End of Genesys, chief financial officer announced his departure from the company. Furthermore, the company’s stocks have fallen 4.3 percent from the closing price as the news of the resignation broke out.
Sphere Stocks Fall
David Byrnes will depart from his role as CFO and treasurer soon. However, he will have an interim period in his position as the venture searches for someone to replace him. Moreover, the Sphere fell down to $41.07 per share during this announcement. Even though the volume was just over three times the day to day average, the closing price for Monday was $43.80.
Sphere entertainment oversees operation at the majestic Sphere Las Vegas. The 17,500 venue has hosted U2 and the Eagles residencies. Besides a one hour signature film called ‘Postcard From Earth’, the venue hosted an UFC event and is on the Formula One Grand Prix track.

The CFO currently stepping down has played three different roles in the company since december 2023. In addition, he was serving as executive vice president and CFO of Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp for two years. During this time, Byrnes supervised major interest sales and stock offerings that dealt with Tao Group Hospitality and MSG Entertainment. (source)
