Melodic Techno purveyor Robot Sunrise unveils ethereal new single “Take Me” via SPIN Records

Robot Sunrise – the solo project of producer/DJ/multi-instrumentalist Danny Klein – is staking his claim as one of the most exciting voices in the melodic techno scene.

A long-time ringleader of LA’s house and techno underground, Robot Sunrise previously made waves as half of electronic duo Dreamfreak, where he released multiple tracks through legendary dance record label Astralwerks. He’s also co-written and performed with GRAMMY-winning artist / G.O.O.D. Music-affiliate Really Doe, as well as co-written for GRAMMY-nominated act Télépopmusik.

Now, Klein is fleshing out his Robot Sunrise alias into a multi-dimensional, narrative-driven project. With an artistic brand revolving around themes of emancipation, equality, and peace, Robot Sunrise wants to use his music to inspire positive action in the world. To solidify this mission statement, Robot Sunrise contributes portions of all his profits to Human Rights Foundation – an act that translates his music’s impact to real-life aid to oppressed people around the globe

Most recently, listeners got a taste of Robot Sunrise’s hypnotic, hopeful techno sensibilities with “London Public WiFi (Robbie Rivera Remix).” Serving SPIN Records’ first-ever release, “London Public WiFi (Robbie RIvera Remix)” marked the second collaboration of 2024 between Robot Sunrise and the UK chart-topping Rivera, and saw the legendary house maestro brilliantly rework the original single.

Today, Robot Sunrise unveils “Take Me,” a spacious, ethereal cut whose celestial atmosphere and themes perfectly compliment the track’s melodic techno palette. With a central melody born literally from a dream, “Take Me” is a lucid, free-flowing dance experience – a track that is as suited for the nightclub as it is for headphone listening.

Take Me” kicks off with a sweeping riser before dropping into a four-on-the-floor beat, infusing bumping kick drums with futuristic synth arpeggios, granular hi-hats, and ghostly pads. The track then brings in its central, introspective piano melody before building into its vocal section: “Take me, where there is nothing/Take me, to the stars, Robot Sunrise sings over the song’s dreamy, mystical instrumental – a grooving, astrological vibe made complete by Robot Sunrise’s mesmerizing vocal processing.

Robot Sunrise has also announced The Robot Sunrise Experience, a special, one-off performance. Taking place Saturday, November 9 at the Porter St Community Center in DTLAThe Robot Sunrise Experience will be an immersive, multi-medium showcase replete with spellbinding orchestral accompaniment, experiential elements, interpretive dance and a developed storyline that will build out the Robot Sunrise narrative through his headlining live hybrid melodic techno set. The night will also include DJ sets by very special guests Bright LightsLittle Dinosaur and Mikey Made

The Robot Sunrise Experience follows a handful of special Robot Sunrise performances over the past month, including his Burning Man set, which saw the producer take Burners through a 90 minute journey of 125 BPM melodic techno.

In September, Robot Sunrise also performed at the debut Off The Grid Campout Austin. That performance was a tone-setter for his live set at the SoCal edition of Off The Grid Campout, which is entering its 8th-ever event this weekend. Off The Grid Campout is a yearly grassroots underground electronic music festival in the Mojave Desert run by event brand company True Entertainment, whose new offshoot management division True Management represents Robot Sunrise.
