In 2012, Day Zero emerged in Tulum as a groundbreaking festival celebrating the end of the Mayan calendar, blending ancient traditions with modern electronic music. Founded by Damian Lazarus, the festival draws a global crowd to experience a unique fusion of Mayan culture and avant-garde music in the enchanting jungle setting. The event features a stunning mix of natural beauty and cutting-edge production, with laser beams cutting through the lush canopy, immersive art installations, and traditional Mayan rituals performed by local guides.
Thankfully, 2025 will be off to a fantastic start as the full lineup has finally been released!
The upcoming addition edition, set for January 11, 2025, boasts an impressive lineup including electronic music icons such as Fatboy Slim, Major League DJz, DJ Harvey, Patrick Mason, Lee Burridge, Dubfire, and Victor Calderone, alongside a diverse range of emerging and established artists like Carlita, Adam Ten, Mëstiza, Sonja Moonear, and Francesca Lombardo.
Day Zero is also committed to showcasing Mexican talent through its El Teatro stage, featuring performances by artists like Sainte Vie, Sabrina, MNTY, Rafatel, Roderic, Discosis, and Secret Echoes. The festival emphasizes sustainability and community engagement with initiatives such as converting plastic waste into fuel, supporting coral reef restoration, funding a local children’s music school, organizing beach cleanups, and reforesting Tulum.
