SoundCloud Now Allows Users to Customize App Logo Colors

Back in May, SoundCloud rocked our world a bit when their then latest app update changed the application icon on our phone’s home screens. It took some time to adjust to the black. There was also a period where it was blue in a collaboration with Billie Eilish!

Now, SoundCloud is now offering users the ability to customize the app logo on their mobile devices (iOS and Android), adding a new layer of personalization to the user experience. Recognizing the strong personal connection users have with the SoundCloud brand, the platform is expanding customization options to reflect individual styles.

Free users can select from the classic SoundCloud logos in orange and black. Meanwhile, Go, Go+, and Next Pro subscribers enjoy a broader range of choices, including seven exclusive new designs: chrome, rose gold, silver, soft purple, hot pink, tie-dye, and leopard. This feature allows users to tailor the app’s appearance to better match their personal preferences and home screen aesthetics.

The update not only enhances visual personalization but also aims to deepen user engagement by allowing a more individualized experience. It reflects SoundCloud’s commitment to making their platform more customizable and connected to their users’ identities. It remains to be seen whether this move will bring users back or be seen as too little too late for the once-beloved streaming site.
