Knife Party. You’ve heard of them. They broke the internet over ten years ago with their massive hit track ‘Internet Friends‘, and they continued to grace the world with pyro-worthy, festival-sized anthems for the years following. This includes ‘LRAD’, ‘Antidote’ — the renowned Swedish House Mafia collaboration —, ‘Bonfire’, and many more.
The duo, comprised of Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, two members of the Drum and Bass band Pendulum, has amassed a huge following over the years due to their electric and pointy sound, one that has become synonym with Electro House, Dubstep, UKF, and so many other concepts. And just like they broke the internet a decade ago, they might have the potential to do it yet again.
New Music On The Horizon
Earlier this week, Knife Party took to X/Twitter to share a single meme. Using a template that’s made headlines far and wide this Olimpic Games season, the boys posted the following picture, without any text caption:
Of course, the reactions started coming like a wave. Users from all over claiming this to be real, and to come fast, and to be an album… in the end, the greater picture is that Knife Party’s following is still alive, breathing, and so ready to hear what’s coming up on their alleyway. And we are too.
After iconic performances such as their Ultra Miami 2016 closing act at the Mainstage, which involved a Pendulum reunion and encores with guitarist Tom Morello and deadmau5, and Swire’s recent appearance at the Tomorrowland Mainstage for a live performance of his new track with Armin van Buuren, we can’t predict what exactly the guys at Knife Party have for us, but we expect it to blow us out of the water — as per usual.
