Diplo Accused Of Distributing Revenge Porn, Lawyer Claims Defamation

The superstar DJ is once again in the thick of things.

Diplo is under attack once again. Not even a week after being called out by Spanish police for hosting an illegal party in a protected area in Ibiza, he’s now facing more legal troubles, this time coming from California. A lawsuit was recently filed in that state by a woman by the name of Jane Doe, accusing him of distributing revenge porn.

The information now public states Doe and Diplo began chatting in early-mid 2016, which, back then, led to them exchanging compromising images. Shortly after, they supposedly started a romantic relationship which lasted until October 2023. In the following months, the lawsuit states, Diplo would have shared some of these pictures and even some recorded encounters without her consent.

Doe claims another woman she didn’t know approached her in November and said she had received intimate images and videos of her and Diplo. Apparently, the media dated back to October 2018. On November 7, Doe reported Pentz to the New York Police Department, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Diplo’s Lawyer Claims Defamation

Diplo’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, assures the lawsuit is false, commenting that “Time and again, Wes has been targeted by a group of untrustworthy individuals and their unscrupulous lawyers, cobbling together falsehoods in search of a meritless payday”, acknowledging this is not the first time the artist has been met with legal issues of this calibre. “This suit seems to be just more of the same, which is why we have no reason to believe that this will end any differently than all the others”.

In fact, Diplo has been accused of the very same substance — revenge porn — at least on two other occasions back in 2021 and 2020. Back then, the case was ruled in the artist’s favour and he walked away with $1.2M, after refuting sexual assault allegations.

While Doe is using the earlier case as proof in the very way Diplo and Freedman are using it to disbelieve the lawsuit, we’re yet to see how the whole case unfolds. Stay tuned to our page for more information. As for the DJ, he doesn’t seem too bothered:
