Dutch superstar DJ Hardwell threw on his orange spectacles for a special reason this past weekend. The Breda-born producer and founder of Revealed Recordings returned home to celebrate NAC Breda’s triumphant promotion back to the Eredivisie, the top tier of Dutch football.
Following a stellar season, the NAC squad ended their five-year hiatus from the top league, sparking a city-wide celebration on Sunday, June 2nd. Hardwell, a lifelong NAC supporter, was drafted in for an exclusive 30-minute set dedicated to his hometown heroes.
True to form, Hardwell’s set leaned heavily on the high-octane energy of hardstyle, a genre he’s well-known for exploring. Fans were treated to remixes of tracks by Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Tiësto & W&W, and even classics by Dido, Wiz Khalifa, and Kim Wilde. But the party kicked off with a special touch – Hardwell’s own interpretation of the NAC Breda anthem, ‘Hé, Hé, Hé, Hé, Hup NAC.’
While the full broadcast isn’t available, you can jump straight to Hardwell’s hometown set at the 2:30 mark to relive the electric atmosphere.
