Next weekend marks the return of the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix to Governors Island. This highly celebrated event will feature ten identical F50 catamarans – hydro-foiling race boats that fly on the waters in an epic race on the waters of Governors Island. The New York race next week is the 12th stop in SailGP’s 13-event race for their Season 4 calendar with the other destinations being other iconic cities around the world. The race will consist of national teams representing the United States, Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, New Zealand, Spain and Switzerland. This all leads up to the SailGP Final which will take place in San Francisco.
Like any other race event, the festivities that come along with the Grand Prix are just as exciting. The festivities for next week’s event also includes a Smorgasburg experience as well as a very special performance from the iconic duo of Loud Luxury. The duo consisting of Andrew Fedyk and Joe Depace recently just performed a huge sold out show at the Brooklyn Mirage and now will be taking it to the waters to perform a hour long set on the waters immediately after the races conclude on Day 1. The duo can add a very special waterfront performance from Governors Island to their list of incredible places they have performed after next weekend.
