[Review] ILLENIUM Performs 2 Magical Nights at The Gorge

This past weekend, ILLENIUM returned to one of the most iconic venues in the country to perform 2 nights at The Gorge Amphitheatre. This marks the third annual event the melodic bass DJ and producer has held at the venue. He has made a name for himself over the years by creating unforgettable experiences with his euphoric music. Although there were some hurdles to the weekend due to high winds at the venue, there was no doubt this was yet again another magical weekend at The Gorge.

Day 1

The first day of the event was unfortunately plagued by severe winds that caused the event to temporarily pause for the safety of all the attendants. Besides minor delays from the winds, Day 1 was nothing short of incredible, the lineup of artists that performed include Kaskade, KREAM, Blanke, Hvdes, Fairlane, Cinema Kid, and of course ILLENIUM. There were also a few surprise guests including his close friend Said the Sky. There was a wind delay for a few hours which pushed back on a lot of the performances but even still they made time for a lot of the artists to perform to make up for their missed sets during the delay. The Gorge parking is always convenient and the lines to get into the venue were very swift due to expert promoters. As ILLENIUM came on, he played all of his biggest hits in delight to his fans. The presentation of the show was also spectacular with lasers, fireworks, pyro and every kind of production you can imagine on display to create an euphoric experience for everyone in attendance. When you’re at the Gorge, there is simply no bad view of the show with the venue so grand. However, for those who prefer an elevated experience, there was VIP and Bottle Service purchase options that provided designated and preferred viewing areas where you can enjoy the show with more personal space.

Day 2

The second day of festivities was just as spectacular as the first day. The lineup of the second day included Two Friends, Ghengar, Level Up, BIJOU, Midnight Kids, and Paws. Fortunately, the weather was much more ideal during the second day with minimal winds and just the perfect temperature for a day out at the Gorge. Two Friends was of course one of the most anticipated acts for the day and they performed all their biggest mash-ups that readied the crowd for the main event. ILLENIUM took the stage at 11PM to close out the evening. He played a different set compared the first day so any true fan would have to attend both days to submerge in the full experience. Playing a handful of his classics but also with a vide variety of mash-ups and even previewed a new song for fans to all experience first at the Gorge. One of the biggest highlights of the evening was when he played out his mega hit collaboration with Seven Lions called ‘Not Even Love’.

Food & Beverage

The food selection at the event was also spectacular with everything being very reasonably priced. The stand out food selections include their iconic large sized corndogs along with tacos. They also had healthier options including acai bowls and smoothies. There was also designated areas for bars and 21+ viewing area where there was a lawn that included cornhole as an amenity for fans to hang around in between sets.

Merch

If you’re familiar with the ILLENIUM fanbase, you will know that merch is a huge component to the experience. There was a large variety of merch available at the booth with lots of different kinds of jerseys and even an exclusive collectible jersey made for the 2024 Gorge weekend. With the winds so heavy on day 1, many of the hoodies and sweaters were quickly snagged up from the merch booth.

The Gorge is undoubtedly one of the greatest venues in the country and a perfect compliment to ILLENIUM’s melodic bass music to create the ultimate euphoric experience. This was the third year that ILLENIUM has hosted a weekend event at this venue and it certainly will not be the last. Be sure to keep an eye out for if he announces an event for next year so you can pick up your tickets early.
