Have a six-piece EP that is so much more than just music.
While the Dance music industry is constantly receiving gigantic amounts of new music, those tunes that make it to the top are, more often than not, the execution of a formula to appeal to a great number of individuals. Which is absolutely fair, don’t get me wrong. But the fact that the business is filled to the brim with those kinds of numbers, creates a special phenomenon: when a heartfelt piece comes by, it makes it feel much more special.
Such is the case of this track, and also the larger release it belongs to. MarMar has been unveiling his debut EP Feel Okay bit by bit, and little by little. One track at a time, he’s made sure to embark listeners on a journey of self-discovery, spirituality, and love. And even though it’s a nice resource for us listeners to be able to decant emotions through the delicate work of a sensitive artist, the focal point of MarMar’s EP is, well, healing himself in the process.
“I wanted to just be honest about how things are in my mind sometimes. How I’m always seeking peace. I spend a lot of time wondering what it would be like to completely Feel Okay.”
‘Feel Okay’, The Last Piece Of Feel Okay
Following the release of previous singles ‘Call On You‘, ‘Try‘, ‘Heart‘, ‘Imposter‘, and ‘Without‘, the France-based American producer saved the best for last, as the sixth and final composition of his Feel Okay EP is, at last, the title track, ‘Feel Okay‘.
Throughout the single, MarMar transforms his mental health struggles into music, creating a raw and honest exploration of his emotional landscape. He shares his path to inner peace, hoping his song and the EP as a whole will act as a bridge that connects him with listeners on a deep and meaningful level.
A profound reflection of his very own insightful thoughts can be seen by following the lyrics, whose recurrent lines are: “I feel like I’m doing everything I can // And maybe that’s the problem, me trying to stand // What if I feel ok, when will that even happen? // What if I start to pray, not chasing what I haven’t been?“.
