The marshmallow-head DJ is leaving the mainstream and is returning to his roots. On two different Xs (formerly known as tweets) Marshmello announced he will stop producing Pop to go back to his EDM roots. Whether he is fully retiring from Pop music, it is still unknown. After all, his rise to fame can be partially attributed to his Pop hits like ‘Wolves‘ with Selena Gomez, ‘Happier‘ with Bastille and ‘Silence‘ with Khalid.
Pop was cool for a bit but I’m back in my edm era

The ‘Alone‘ creator also mentioned that after billions of streams with Pop music and jumping out of his comfort zone, he’s ready for a sense of comfort within EDM.
Being an artist is all about challenging yourself and going outside of your comfort zone. I did that with billions of streams but now I’m going back to what got me here in the first place. Dance music. https://t.co/sK2CCmMwwD

Nonetheless, Marshmello has collected many accolades within the Dance community, including collaborations with Timmy Trumpet, Sudden Death, Subtronics, and Flux Pavillion. The Philadelphia native is wasting no time with his return, as he joins Sudden Death on the US MelloDeath Tour this coming april. We are excited for the producer to get back into his creative flow within his realm of sounds, and astonish the community even further.
