As American as it gets. The show must go on!
It’s been a busy day today! It’s been quite an agitated afternoon with everything regarding the fifty-eighth edition of the American classic, the Super Bowl. Just a few hours ago, we got informed legendary Dutch DJ and producer Tiësto, who had been announced as the first-ever in-game DJ for the massive event, backed out due to a personal family emergency.
Just as we thought the milestone would have to be postponed for next year, we got yet another announcement. From one legend to another, it is master Kaskade who will take the spot of Tijs to keep the flame alive. That’s right, ladies and gentlemen: Kaskade will officially become the first DJ to musicalize America’s top sports encounter throughout.
As the man gets ready for this record performance on Sunday, which, mind you, is only a few days away, he opens up to the whole weight of the situation. “As a kid who grew up in Chicago watching the Super Bowl every year with my family this chance to actually be part of it is absolutely mind blowing”, Kaskade says.
“To be able to be the first Electronic Musician to be part of the full game experience of the Super Bowl held in Las Vegas seems like coming home, and I’m beyond excited to represent my community.”
-Kaskade
As crazy as it’s been lately, we seem to have a more-than-happy ending to the whole Tiësto situation. We want to extend our warmest congratulations to Kaskade for having taken the spot. At the same time, though, we want to let Tiësto know our thoughts are with him and his family. We appreciate the bravery of knowing when to pass on an event, however big, in the name of family. And worry not, for while you’re away, for the Super Bowl act is in good hands.
