Fairlane & Silverstein Collab On Rocktronic Anthem, ‘Take It Back’

Canada-based Fairlane is a rising star in the Dubstep scene, known for combining DJ sets with mesmerizing guitar performances. Now, he has teamed up with legendary Rock band Silverstein to deliver an electrifying, genre-defying debut collaboration, ‘Take It Back.’

Out now on Monstercat Uncaged and inspired by the early 2000s punk rock era of music, ‘Take It Back’ opens with a beautifully crafted fusion of synths and echoes, giving way for Silverstein’s lead singer, Shane Told’s vocals to take center stage. Reflecting powerful feelings of regret, Shane sings out “I can’t take it back”, as the song dives into a riveting Melodic Bass drop fueled by guitar notes and crisp drums.

Cranking up the energy in the second half of the anthem, Shane’s invigorating screams build anticipation until the instrumental suddenly breaks out into a deafening progression of heavy Dubstep. Following this unleashing of mosh pit-inducing Riddim, ‘Take It Back’ closes out with a sequence that is sonically reminiscent of its beginning, bringing its audience on an intense yet introspective journey.

This tune, its creators, and its encompassing label are synonymous with pushing boundaries in music and live performance. In fact, there is already a viral clip of Fairlane playing ‘Take It Back’ live, resulting in so much headbanging that the venue’s rail was broken. Check it out below.

Channeling their signature styles into this collab, Fairlane and Silverstein expand their influence in Dubstep, simultaneously forging a song that is strongly rooted in Rock. Staying true to both genres, the track organically bridges the gap between them. It undoubtedly showcases the future of the hybrid space of live-electronic, foreshadowing the road ahead for these two trailblazers, who have new music and big touring plans in the works.
