Reinier Zonneveld is techno royalty. The Dutch superstar has become a familiar name in the techno circuit globally over the years. With a dual masters degree under his belt 8 years ago, he decided to give his passion of producing and playing techno a full-time go. There was no turning back as the renowned festivals and clubs came calling along with famed collaborations. These includes the likes of Carl Cox and Oliver Heldens. It was only a matter of time the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix became inevitable.
Zonneveld graced the famed booth of the Essential Mix on the 17th of November this year. The 120 minutes of magic is characterized by each track being Zonneveld creations. These are in the form his own tracks, collaborations or remixes. Only a handful have done it on this famed booth till date.
The ‘Filth on Acid’ label boss opens the set with two unreleased IDs. The first 30 second opener among these is a collaboration with Speedy J. The familiar Zonneveld sound structure is in complete domination on this one. These include tracks that you might have witnessed during his sets earlier this year in his mixes around the globe.
