Arhat / Perspectives
Paul and Leon’s two-part compilation showcases expertise, as it blends dynamism and elegance quite seamlessly. It goes without saying, the tracks themselves are named ‘Arhat’, and ‘Perspectives’, respectively.
Arhat
Sober, hypnotising, and with a subtle note of a deep jungle, ‘Arhat’ is characterised by a handful of melodic elements, put to use in a not-so-melodic manner, pointing in a direction and reflecting upon it. That’s the energy it gives me: calm and reflecting.
Perspectives
The more energetic of the two, ‘Perspectives’ features a steady, pointy rolling percussion from the very start, and evolves the overall aura with a playful bassline, textures that turn into plucks, and then open up to leads, and back to Earth. The song is in itself a journey through the elements, and energy.
