It’s not often that world records are broken in the EDM industry. However, this past weekend, renowned DJ and producer Fatboy Slim, whose real name is Norman Quentin Cook (born Quentin Leo Cook), was awarded no less than four Guinness World Records. The event, titled All Back To Minehead, took place at Butlins and featured special guests. As part of the festivities, Fatboy Slim was pleasantly surprised with four commemorative plaques presented by Guinness World Records, acknowledging his remarkable contributions to the music industry.
These plaques symbolize four distinct world records achieved by the amazing artist. Among his accomplishments are the most UK No.1 singles by a musician as a member of different acts, spanning from the Housemartins to his solo career. Additionally, he holds the record for the most MTV Video Music Awards won by a DJ, securing nine accolades. Another notable achievement is the most wins for a single video by a DJ at the MTV Video Music Awards, with six victories for ‘Weapon Of Choice.’ Furthermore, Fatboy Slim was recognized as the first solo recipient of the Best British Dance Act at the BRIT Awards in 1999.
The announcement of these impressive records occurred during the All Back To Minehead event, where knowledgeable fans sported special t-shirts featuring the artwork from Fatboy Slim’s ‘You’ve Come A Long Way, Baby.’
With already a hall-of-fame career, Fatboy Slim cements himself once again as one of the greatest to ever do it.
