EDM Stars Nominated

Big ups to our guy Fred Again.., with four nominations against his name. His song ‘Strong‘ and ‘Rumble‘ are contenders in the Best Dance/Electronic Recording category. Fred is nominated for his album ‘After Life 3 (January 1-September 9, 2022)‘, and in the Best New Artist category. Well deserved, congratulations Fred!

Competing with Fred in the category of Best Dance/Electronic recording are Disclosure (Higher Than Ever Before), James Blake (Playing Robots Into Heaven), Kx5 (Kx5), Skrillex (Quest For Fire) and The Chemical Brothers (For The Beautiful Feeling).

Earning their places in this prestigious space for the first time are house producers Dom Dolla and Lane 8 in the Best Remixed Recording Category. The Aussie producer Dom Dolla enters for his remix of Gorillaz’ ‘New Gold‘. Deep house maestro and my favourite Lane 8 snaggs his nomination for the rework of ‘Reviver‘ by Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs‘.

The new category Best Pop Dance Recording nods to the increase in popularity of dance music. Two nominations for veteran David Guetta for ‘Baby Don’t Hurt Me‘ and ‘One In A Million‘. The nomination of ‘Miracle‘ does not surprise me, the long awaited reunion of duo Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding. Popular tracks ‘Padam Padam‘ by Kylie Minogue and ‘Rush‘ by Troye Sivan join this category.
