Renowned DJ and producer UMEK has joined forces with recent techno convert Maddix to deliver ‘Hypnotizing’, an energetic track which combines the two iconic styles of the dynamic pair. Out now on UMEK’s label 1605, the track masterfully weaves angelic vocal chops with a dirty and overwhelming bassline, sure to set any dancefloor into a frenzy.
‘Hypnotizing’ does what it says on the tin. Its repetitive melody draws you in, leaving you exposed to the earthy beat drop that shortly follows. The first drop is instantly recognisable by that signature UMEK minimal yet powerful drop, which seamlessly transitions into a classic Techno tempo. The haunting yet inspiring vocal chops lead you to a climax, featuring a drop that Dutch DJ Maddix has become synonymous with. The second drop is quite similar to that of ‘Acid’, Maddix’s collaboration with Hardwell.
With Maddix’s recent explosion onto the Techno scene, there’s no sign of the Revealed Recordings regular slowing down. Tracks like ‘Heute Nacht‘ and his ‘Tell Me Why’ remix have received millions of streams. This has cemented Maddix as a leading figure in this latest surge in Techno music, arguably sparked by Hardwell’s comeback, swapping the much-loved Bigroom genre for the gritty synths of Techno.
UMEK is also a DJ that needs no introduction. He’s credited as a key player in getting electronic music recognised in his home country Slovenia, whilst also bursting onto the international stage over a decade ago.
