Last weekend, Los Angeles based producers SLANDER took their new Chimera live tour to the Brooklyn Mirage for two sold out shows in one day. This was a show that you didn’t want to miss, especially with the Brooklyn Mirage season soon coming to an end.
Joining SLANDER on support was also an incredible roster featuring Saka, Redline, a special Wavedash back to back set with Nitepunk, and Zomboy. I attended the night show and it was an incredible night of energy and vibes from the crowd. Already by 11:15pm, the venue was pretty crowded with everyone wanting to catch a B2B set from Wavedash and Nitepunk. The duo thoroughly warmed up the crowd with their seamless transitions of their own tracks, and playing some new ID’s. This was a diverse set where they showcased their artistry mixing betwen dubstep and hybrid trap. Zomboy took the decks at 12am, and the crowd was ready to party as the DJ turned up the heat, rocking the venue with his bangers.
Finally, SLANDER took the stage at 1:15am and the hype was immense as the crowd had been anticipating for this moment throughout the other performances. The duo began their Chimera tour with a cinematic opener that brought the crowd into an intergalactic love story. From the first drop and first visuals of the set, the duo did not let off the gas, constantly raising the energy for the thousands that ventured to the show on that Sunday night. From one drop to the next, SLANDER took us to new emotional heights, with thunderous headbanging drops to the emotional vocal breaks that would tug onto your heartstrings. Besides playing songs off of their latest Thrive album, they also played out crowd favorites such as ‘Gud Vibrations’, ‘Love is Gone’ and, ‘Superhuman’. The duo also played their new ID with Vastive called ‘Kneel With Me’ which features a menacing buildup and drop. The production of this show was also one of the best I’ve seen at the venue this year with nonstop pyrotechnics, co2 cannons, and hundreds of lasers shooting into the night.
SLANDER’s Chimera tour is still ongoing, check below for other city stops they are making as you don’t want to miss out on this experience!
