Electric Zoo, one of the largest electronic dance music festivals in the United States, has cancelled its first day due to supply chain disruptions.
Organizers made the announcement Friday morning on Twitter. “We know how much today meant to all of you, and seeing your excitement made it all the more special for us,” they said, as a part of the long piece of information.
Sharing this tough news is honestly heartbreaking. We feel the weight of the disappointment and frustration, and we’re so sorry to let our Electric Zoo family down.

The festival said it will be providing a full refund for all Friday tickets. For those who hold multiple-day tickets, they will receive credit for one of the days. The remaining two days of the festival, Saturday and Sunday, are still scheduled to take place as planned.
The festival’s organizers said they are “profoundly sorry” for the inconvenience and disappointment the cancellation will cause. They said they are committed to making the remaining days of the festival an unforgettable experience.
As reactions flood the internet, some festivalgoers wonder how Electric Zoo realized only now that they wouldn’t end the stage in time and, in turn, have to cancel the first day. Others, on the other hand, back the festival’s decision of delaying the statement as much as possible, looking to not fire false alarms. In the end, though, the fact remains: Electric Zoo will be one day shorter than expected.
