It’s almost time for the 10th edition of VELD. The largest dance music festival in Canada is back on the long weekend at Downsview Park. There was a massive turnout of 105,000 attendees last year from all over North America.
As the summer comes around, fans look forward to dancing at the three stages that bring a mix of house, techno, and bass music. Let’s have a look at a few artists that are on my radar for the three days!
Friday – August 4th
The VELD Main Stage brings us the biggest names in the Electronic music world today. You can find me grooving to Jauz, Zedd and Illenium on Friday. The Sirkus stage is the most exciting one to be at with Eli Brown, Solardo and Gorgon City! If you are into UK RAP, Friday is definitely the day for you as they takeover the Hillside Stage!
Saturday – August 5th
All my A&B fans this is the day for you, as the iconic trance group return to VELD. Saturday is definitely the biggest day as we have RezzMau5 make their debut. Other artists that I am itching to catch are Bob Moses and Dom Dolla. Hillside stage will have a bass takeover with showstoppers like Svdden Death and Slander closing out.
Sunday – August 6th
Every good thing comes to end, the last day I am hoping for Trance Tiësto. The Tomorrowland set we experienced from the Dutch maestro brought me to a happy place. Other great acts on the Mainstage will be the hype duo Sofi Tukker, and Multi-platinum DJ Timmy Trumpet. The Hillside stage will be a treat for the Bass fans with Sullivan King and Subtronics. House fans enjoy your last day with Meduza, CID and James Hype.
As if three days wasn’t enough, there will be after parties hosted at multiple clubs in Toronto. Official after parties will be hosted at Vertigo and Rebel. We have placed our bets on hoping our favourite artists will be at the APs. Tickets are already on sale, don’t miss out and grab yours here. Keep a look out for those mid day announcements!
