Renowned electronic music pioneer Richie Hawtin, known as Plastikman, has unveiled the latest edition of his ‘From Our Minds‘ project, landing at the Knockdown Center in Queens, New York. This standalone event marks a milestone for Hawtin’s live experience, showcasing the future of techno talent in one of America’s biggest city. The venue, promoter, and performers all share a commitment to further progress the genre of techno to inspire and share the love of the genre to as many people.
The ‘From Our Minds’ concept made its North American debut earlier this year in Detroit, the birthplace of techno. The journey continued with a series of sold-out shows in Toronto, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and other locations across eight dates. With day-of-show location announcements and a strict no photo/video policy, each event delivered a unique experience for attendees. The tour introduced talent scouted by Hawtin, representing the next wave of artists from various regions beyond the traditional major cities. This collective, comprising label owners, visual artists, producers, and DJs, is driving the evolution of the techno scene. On October 21st, we will see this collection of artists celebrate the legacy and further progression of techno.
