Following one of the world’s most iconic annual dance music events, Street Parade 2023, the echoes of electrifying beats and exhilarating rhythms reverberated through Switzerland’s largest indoor venue, Hallenstadion. Approximately 10,000 international ravers gathered under one roof to celebrate the first edition of the Insomnia Dance Festival, which took place on Saturday, 12 August 2023.
Reimagining the renowned Energy Raves that took place at the venue in the 90s and 2000s, the Hallenstadion became a dance music haven once again, featuring a colossal 300m2 LED wall, Insomnia showcased exhilarating pyro and laser displays, boasting the best in visual effects technology.
The musical journey embarked upon during Insomnia Dance Festival was pretty extraordinary. The diverse range of genres represented a harmonious blend of musical flavours, catering to a wide spectrum of tastes. From the house-oriented sets by EDX and Meduza, to the entrancing selections of five-time world #1 DJ Armin van Buuren. Psytrance sounds by Vini Vici and the unique fusion of goa and hard tech brought by Indira Paganotto. Closing with hard techno by I Hate Models and 999999999, the festival curated a special debut auditory experience.
The festival was also broadcast live on television across Switzerland and Italy, powered by Vinivia. Additionally, the show went live on numerous online platforms. With viewers from the USA, Australia, and South America joining the global celebration.
Building on the resounding success of the recent 2023 festival, the organizers announced that Insomnia Dance Festival will return in 2024, once again coinciding with the Street Parade.
