Last weekend, Montreal hosted one of Canada‘s biggest music and arts festivals. As a matter of fact, the 16th edition of OSHEAGA took place at Parc Jean-Drapeau from August 4-6. After three days that showcased more than 90 artists, it’s safe to say that the 2023 edition was another good one. However, this year’s iteration is apparently much more than that, as the event registered more than 155,000 passionate music fans from here and abroad who converged to party for three days: a record for OSHEAGA.
The festival lineup was so stellar that the OSHEAGA 3-day passes sold out a full 10 days before the festival even began. Daily tickets for Saturday and Sunday sold out next, generating massive buzz online (OSHEAGA kicks off with a bang as Canada’s most Googled festival) leading up to a perfect weekend. Moreover, the event had a handful of amenities to offer to the attendees, which made the experience enjoyable for everyone.
The Experience
Obviously, going to a festival is always better when the sun is out. Lucky for the attendees, mother nature made sure that no rain would fall down on the premises, as blue skies were part of the show all weekend long.
As stated before, OSHEAGA is one of the biggest music festivals in Canada. It boasts six stages across a vast property by the water. The festival was well-organized as you could easily find your way to all the stages and other places. OSHEAGA is known to have artists from all genres of music performing over the weekend. The 2023 edition was no different, with RÃœFÃœS DU SOL, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Yachty, Fred again.., Kim Petras, Japanese Breakfast, and Central Cee.
For EDM fans, most of the action was at the Coca-Cola Island Stage. Throughout the weekend, fans had the chance to see PAWSA, Kasablanca, Innellea, Ganja White Night, Nostalgix, Marten Hørger, Tinlicker, Dom Dolla, and Monolink, just to name a few. Personally, the sets from Marten Hørger and Dom Dolla on Sunday were my favorites.
All in all, OSHEAGA delivered yet another amazing festival, and these record-breaking numbers prove it more than ever. Make sure to secure your tickets for the 2024 edition early by visiting their official website.
